AAUW Cincinnati branch has organized around these three topics for 2004-05.  Please consider joining one of the following issue-based committees and find out more about their related events on the Events page.

Educational Foundation Fundraising

Many members are deeply committed to raising funds for the AAUW Educational Foundation.  This year, we hosted a 2.5-mile walk in Sharon Woods on June 9.  We are also selling Girls Can! T-shirts to adults and children.

Upcoming fundraising events include a silent auction on November 15, 2003 and our third annual walk on June 25, 2004.
Math/Science/Technology for Girls Committee

This committe educated sixth grade girls about science and math in everyday applications and in potential career choices through six events over the 2002-2003 school year.

The first event at Caesar Creek Lake was held September 14, 2002.  For more infomormation, click here: Math, Science & Technology for Girls

Pay Inequity Bake Sale

On April 20, 2004, AAUW Cincinnati held a Bake Sale on Fountain Square in Downtown Cincinnati.  At our booth, we sold baked goods for prices based on the current pay rates based on gender and race.  For instance, white and Asian men paid $1.00 while Hispanic women paid $0.55.

The event was covered by local media including TV, talk radio, newspapers, and the Internet.

If you'd like to help us organize the event in April 2005, please email us at aauwcinci@yahoo.com.
