Celebrating
100 years as
a branch!
This year we are returning to our roots, and returning to monthly meetings without speakers. These
will be planning meetings, and decisions will be made at these meetings regarding non by-law related issues.
Notably, we will be discussing the funding of the June Hottenstein fund, and if we will spend some of
the branch savings to complete the scholarship this year.
We have various proposals on membership - notably offering reduced rates to members who request that
assistance, and in return they will make time commitments to the branch and AAUW.
Each meeting is scheduled for three separate times, in an effort to widen the people who are able to
attend. We will have these three meetings at least through September, but if there are times that are clearly not of
interest, then we will stop holding the meetings on those days. If you would be able to attend at another day of the
week, let us know, and we can try to accomodate you. Since there will be conference call ability, we hope that more
people will be able to fit this into their schedule and if not join in person, call in and let us know your thoughts and interests.

The American Association of University
Women is a national organization that promotes education and equity for all women and
girls. AAUW is composed of three corporations:
The Association, a 100,000-member organization with
more than 1,000 branches nationwide that lobbies and advocates for education and equity
The AAUW Educational Foundation, which funds pioneering
research on girls and education, community action projects, and fellowships and grants for outstanding women around the globe
The AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund,
which provides funds and a support system for women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination in higher education
